Eric and Rebecca Harbin

The Harbins are grateful to be a part of One Mission Society as disciple-makers in Sicily. They consider it a privilege to serve Sicilians and refugees from North Africa and beyond as they cultivate a disciple-making movement that reaches Sicily, Europe, and beyond.

As parents of young children, they are also grateful for the opportunity to raise their children in a cross-cultural context that will give them a greater awareness of God’s work among the nations.

Eric grew up a pastor’s kid in Michigan. He studied finance at Spring Arbor University and then worked for a public record research firm in Canton, MI, before responding to a call to ministry in 2016. Eric graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in leadership in 2019. Towards the end of his seminary education, he served as a resident director at Asbury University. After three years, Eric accepted a two-year residency at Nappanee Missionary Church in Nappanee, IN, where he assisted in the planting of Noble County Community Church. Eric believes his calling in life is to influence, develop, and encourage the next generation of spiritual leaders in their pursuit of holiness.

Rebecca also grew up as a pastor’s kid. All her life she wanted to and prayed that she would be a missionary, but initially God had other plans. She attended Bethel College (now Bethel University) and earned degrees in youth ministry and theatre. For one year she ministered to children and youth at The Academy of the Arts in South Carolina. After serving there, she attended Asbury Theological Seminary and earned a master’s degree in leadership. She now puts that degree to work in the development of her children. She is excited to follow God into this journey. Her mission statement is to choose obedience over comfort and lead other spiritual leaders to do the same.

Eric and Rebecca met at Asbury Theological Seminary and were married in the summer of 2017. They have two amazing children, Moriah (2019) and Isaiah (2021). Moriah loves caring for everyone in her path. Her favorite verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Always be joyful.” Isaiah enjoys all animals from lambs to lions. His love of lions has influenced his favorite Bible story: Daniel. Together, the Harbins enjoy walks, coffee shops, and parks.
