Soy Satura

Satura Colombia is a ministry partner of One Mission Society. Its goal is to saturate Colombia with the Gospel so that every man, woman, and child in that nation has the opportunity to hear, understand and respond to the Good News of salvation and transformation through Jesus Christ.

But Satura Colombia’s vision is not just to preach the Gospel; it is also to reveal the love of God through action. This vision has led Satura Colombia to launch the Soy Satura ministry. This ministry helps meet the needs of those suffering due to the turmoil and economic dislocation in Venezuela, which is having a significant effect in the border regions of Colombia.

One direct ministry to the children incudes serving snacks to school children. Four Venezuelan workers produce a soy-based nutritional supplement for children between the ages of 5 and 12. The soybeans are first crushed. Then, the milk from the beans goes into fruit drinks while the dough is used for a protein snack, which is tasty as well as nourishing. The snack is served daily in the afternoon. The program started in 2019 with 200 kids and later grew to 300.  

Soy Satura also launched a program for mothers. The mothers formerly sat outside the school waiting for their children. Soy Satura now shares the Gospel with the moms, and they are discipled so they can lead others to Christ. The mothers also learn skills like sewing, which allows them to make clothing that help them provide for their families.

Satura Colombia also teaches parenting and family management skills to help parents raise their children in a godly way. Because of the Soy Satura outreach to the kids, the ministry has even been able to offer a Bible school program in Colombian schools. 

The Soy Satura team cannot meet the needs of all the children in the border area who need help, but they are making a significant difference in the lives of those the Lord has put in their hands. One child can be helped at a cost of $11 per month. This includes house rent, employee costs, materials, kitchen equipment, etc.
