Colombia - Embark - Communications

The Latin America region has a vision to transform lives in dynamic communities. You'll serve in your area of focus while being part of localized summer ministry experiences. You'll also be poured into by a team of missionaries as you learn more about your gifts and passions. Our hope for this experience is that you will grow in your relationship with God, expand your skill set, be more prepared to disciple people from other cultures, and perhaps discern a long-term call to missions and ministry.

This Embark opportunity will be project based, working directly with the OMS office in Medellin. This intern will design and create communications projects for our ministry partners which may include, the Biblical Seminary of Colombia, IGLEICO, Satura Colombia, and OMS missionaries in Colombia. Projects will include high quality productions of video, web, and print projects that will tell the story of ministry in Colombia to donors, prayer supporters, churches and potential recruits. Responsibilities

• Capture high quality photos and videos of ministry activities.
• Edit and create daily/weekly recap videos.
• Post content to social media outlets.
• Work on any other relevant media projects.
• Help develop informational videos, photos, and articles for recruitment and partnership development, for various missionaries and projects around the field.

Skills

• Medium to High level technical expertise in photo/video capturing and editing.
• High School Diploma or GED required, some college preferred.
• Comfortable with confidently shooting photos, video, and engaging with students during activities.
• Proficient in shooting photo and video footage.
• Proficient in editing videos together in a timely manner.
• Able to upload videos to Facebook/Instagram.
• Able to get along well with people from a variety of backgrounds.

Other Information

• You will be serving from mid-June to mid-August.
• You will live in Medellin, Colombia at the seminary or a rented apartment.
• Cost will be $5,000 (this includes travel expenses).
• This is a volunteer internship that requires raising financial support through ministry partners.

During your time with Embark you will serve with One Mission Society, build relationships with youth and young adults, receive mentorship from experienced missionaries, work alongside a team of other like-minded OMS interns, expand and hone your skill set, and grow in your ministry approach to evangelism, discipleship and communicating your testimony.
