Sara Williamson

In 2016, Sara Williamson invited herself on a medical mission trip that her friend had told her about, and her life has never been the same.

After returning from Colombia, Sara had a desire to continue missions work. She attended leadership trainings to learn more about missions and went on another medical trip to Peru. Sara had an opportunity in 2020 to travel to Africa on her first women’s training mission trip with a Dynamic Women in Missions (DWIM) team.

Shortly after arriving back and during the COVID pandemic, Sara sold her house, quit her job, moved back in with her parents (to save money), and started her own private practice (Sara is a licensed clinical social worker). Sara felt led to make these abrupt changes to have more flexibility and be able to be more active with DWIM and One Mission Society.

Since then, Sara has become a special assignment missionary with One Mission Society and has led teams to Togo and Benin thus far. She serves as the Midwest Africa coordinator for DWIM. Sara feels called into missions and although is unsure of what her future looks like in missions, she has a deep desire to continue being as active in missions as God allows.
