Hungary - Embark - English Ministry

The One Mission Society Europe region has a vision to transform lives in dynamic communities. You'll serve in your area of focus while being part of localized summer ministry experiences. You'll also be poured into by a team of missionaries as you learn more about your gifts and passions. Our hope for this experience is that you will grow in your relationship with God, expand your skill set, be more prepared to disciple people from other cultures, and perhaps discern a long-term call to missions and ministry.

You will work as the ESL/TESOL Intern, by assisting with summer English camps, including preparation, teaching, and leading conversation groups. Also, you will experience how ESL/TESOL is used in missions year-round and contribute to ministry projects with your ESL/TESOL knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Be able to have fun with teenagers and build rapport. 
• Help to plan, teach, and lead English lessons and activities. 
• Assist students during study times and exercises. 
• Lead an English conversation group using pre-designed materials and flexible format. 
• Be willing to share testimony and beliefs in an honest and friendly way.
• Must be willing to participate in several Zoom calls prior to trip to discuss expectations and process.

Skills

• Basic Level of ESL/TESOL experience is preferred
• High School Diploma or GED required, some college preferred
• Willingness to find common ground with people despite language barriers and cultural differences
• Comfortable sharing and talking with new acquaintances  
• Able to relax and have fun in varied environments
• Have some knowledge and experience working with the English language
