The Director of Training will evaluate current training processes and protocols around new candidate orientation, cross-cultural training for candidates preparing for deployment for missionary service in other countries.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate current training processes and protocols around new candidate orientation, cross cultural training for candidates preparing for deployment for missionary service in other countries.
  • Liaison with OMS Global leadership to understand and in ongoing training for missionaries.
  • Lead the process of funding training for those missionaries and staff that are raising personal support.
  • Explore opportunities to reframe and re-imagine the various training operations.
  • Be involved in the evaluation and implementation of all other training opportunities for OMS headquarters staff.
  • Develop and nurture a training culture which exudes a sense of urgency for the proper equipping and training of missionaries and staff serving with OMS USA.
  • Create and an executable strategy for training new missionaries and staff from varied educational backgrounds, ages, and cultures.
  • Build and lead a team of trainers, over time, that can leverage the history and value proposition of OMS USA to create a culture that embraces training, ongoing learning and growing and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and interact with key internal and external stakeholders to open opportunities for training.
  • Develop and implement strategies that are synergistic with other OMS USA departments, including, but not limited to, Church Partners, Human Resources, Short Term Trips and Student Ministries to create well rounded training opportunities for new candidates, and established missionaries and staff as they move through the pipeline to serve with OMS easily and seamlessly.
  • Interact and develop strong relationships with OMS Global leadership to identify gifts and skills that are needed on the field and then implement training that equips and fulfills the need for those gifts and skills.
  • Create measurable, attainable goals for yourself and your team, celebrating successes and providing guidance to help achieve those goals.
Skills and Education
  • Bachelor's degree required, but a Master's degree is desired.
  • Understanding of OMS residential missionary life preferred.
  • Demonstrated administrative and team building skills.
Other Details
  • This position is fully paid by One Mission Society and does not require raising financial support.
  • Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
