Darren and Sherilyn Sweeney
Darren and Sherilyn Sweeney, along with their three young daughters, Kaitlyn, Emma, and Makenna, are following God on a journey to serve him and his people in Mozambique, Africa. God used a short-term mission opportunity in 2014 to lead their family into full-time ministry. They will serve at Christian Academy in Mozambique (CAM) and support the ministries of the local church in the capital of Maputo and the surrounding areas.
Darren has a passion for discipleship and teaching young people how to pursue a close relationship with Jesus Christ. He will counsel and mentor students at CAM and desires to help equip them to live abundant lives with Jesus and reach their communities for him.
Sherilyn has a passion for children and families and will partner with the local church in Maputo by sharing Christ’s love with children through weekly Bible clubs, Sunday school, and other kinds of outreach. She and Darren believe that God is leading them to mentor and train the students at CAM to minister to the children and youth in the community.
The Sweeney family desires to be obedient to God’s call to make disciples of all people. They want to be an encouragement to the missionaries and national believers who are already doing the work of the ministry in Maputo and contribute to God’s global plan of redemption.
