Jeff and Laura Edwards
Jeff and Laura Edwards serve seven One Mission Society fields in Latin America and the Caribbean. Discipleship and mentoring are their passion. They invest in leaders who can multiply themselves and strengthen the church and missionary service, and they serve by helping with strategic vision and leadership development. Jeff and Laura focus on transformational teaching to help people become fully devoted followers of Christ.
For years, they have had a ministry to couples through mentoring, counseling, and speaking at retreats, including 22 years in Brazil doing church planting, leadership development, and counseling. They both also served as professors at Londrina Bible Seminary (LBS). Jeff served as the president of the LBS board, and Laura coordinated two graduate programs. They also pastored a local church, mentored couples, and successfully handed off a couples’ camp ministry.
They returned to the U.S. in 2008, and Jeff began serving as international regional director for the Latin America/Caribbean region in early 2009.
After growing up in Brazil as the son of OMS missionaries, Jeff returned to the United States and attended Asbury College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He holds a master’s degree in theological studies from Wheaton College Graduate School and a doctor of ministry degree in pastoral care and counseling from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Laura has a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Wheaton College Graduate School and a doctorate in educational psychology from Regent University.
Jeff and Laura have two daughters: Katie, married to Thiago, and Kendra, married to Mark. They also have three grandsons and one granddaughter.
