Rachel Coleman

Dr. Rachel Coleman currently serves on One Mission Society’s Theological Education team as a representative for Latin America (including the Latin American community in Spain). Her ministries include writing, editing, and translating Bible study and training materials, as well as short-term teaching assignments on various OMS fields. She also is working to build stronger relationships between the Theological Education team and our partner schools in the region, as well as helping the schools network with each other. Rachel’s husband Randy, formerly with OMS, is the pastor of Elida Immanuel Church, near Lima, Ohio

Randy and Rachel previously ministered for five years as the directors of the OMS Student Center in Wilmore, Kentucky (2006–2011), serving the campus of Asbury University. They served in Ecuador as seminary professors and church planters from 1992-2005. They are cofounders of SHALOM Christian Fellowship, a church plant that is reaching the professional class of Guayaquil.

In 2018, Rachel earned a Ph.D. in Theological Studies from Regent University, with a specialization in Luke-Acts. A published version of her dissertation is available from Brill: The Lukan Lens on Wealth and Possessions: A Perspective Shaped by Reversal and Right Response (2020). Rachel's B.A. degree is in Spanish and English secondary education. In 1986, she earned her master’s degree in Spanish literature and language from the University of Kentucky. In 2001, Rachel graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with an M.A. in biblical studies.

In addition to her work with OMS, Rachel also serves as an adjunct Bible professor for Indiana Wesleyan University, Asbury Theological Seminary, and United Theological Seminary.

The Colemans have two adult children, Robert (married to Brittany) and Rebecca (married to Brandon Williams), all living in Lexington, Kentucky. Becca and Brandon have two children, making Rachel and Randy "Nana and Gramps."

You can view ministry photos from the Colemans on Rachel’s Facebook page and on Randy’s Facebook page. Some of Rachel’s Bible study materials, in both English and Spanish, are available on the One Mission Society website here.
