Gene and Juanita Bertolet

Gene and Juanita Bertolet joined the staff of One Mission Society in 1966. A draftsman and graphic designer, Gene became art director for OMS publications, including OMS Outreach magazine, MFMI Action magazine and scores of brochures. Following a short-term assignment in Korea, he helped develop literature for all the countries where OMS ministers.

In 1973, the Bertolets went to South Korea where, for two years, Gene coordinated production of Christian literature for the OMS-affiliated Korea Evangelical Holiness Church. In cooperation with Korean church leaders and OMS missionaries, he helped create evangelistic literature for mass distribution, church school materials, and promotional brochures for use in Korea and in OMS sending countries. Korean Christians distributed more than 500,000 copies of one tract in a single Day of Witness, Good Friday 1974. That has since become an annual event on the Korean church calendar. As a result, thousands have responded to this literature-supported outreach.

Gene is a graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College (now Taylor University, Fort Wayne campus), where he majored in Bible and missions. He also attended Fort Wayne School of Art. Gene now develops promotional literature for Men for Missions (MFM) and designs Action magazine, the regular publication of MFM. With the advent of computer graphics, in 1996 Gene completed a compressed and intense program at IUPUI (Indiana U., Purdue U. at Indianapolis), earning a Computer Graphics Career Certificate. He now works primarily out of the MFMI headquarters office in Greenwood, Indiana, traveling to various OMS fields as literature needs arise. Gene has visited most of the OMS fields. His most recent field involvement was, and continues to be, with Haiti, leading the intercessory support of projects related to Radio 4VEH.

Juanita coordinates the scholarship program for national students in OMS Bible schools and seminaries. She also serves as a vital link between scholarship donors and deserving students who receive aid.
