    Area Encourager

    In many countries, the need for churches and worshipping groups far exceeds the number of available churches and trained pastors. One Mission Society utilizes a discipleship tool called Train and Multiply (T&M) to equip pastors and lay leaders to plant and multiply worshipping groups and disciples. In this role, you'll encourage and assist local pastors as they equip lay leaders in church multiplication. Through this role, you'll increase the number of pastors and churches engaged in outreach, discipleship, church planting, and equipping and releasing lay people for ministry so that a growing number of individuals can know and follow Christ.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Visit individual pastors for evaluating, coaching and encouragement.
    • Build a good relationship with and working alongside the national church area leader
    • Assist in training events for pastors and lay people, especially in T&M training
    • Raise up prayer support for the area and people groups in the region
    • Empower trainers to achieve their church multiplication goals.
    • Work alongside other mission personnel involved in this ministry

    Success in this role is defined by:

    Seminary Professor

    Train young Brazilian men and women for pastoral ministry within the church, in missions, and for lay responsibilities. Courses sought include Old Testament, New Testament, Discipleship, Cultural Studies on Post Modernity, or Counseling.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervise and facilitate students' learning
    • Develop practical projects related to the course
    • Possibility of recording classes in a video format for online courses
    • Offer lectures to the community, one or two nights, about specific themes
    • Visit the extension seminary centers for intensive courses of 12-16 hours

    Church Planter

    Assist a Brazilian church denomination (CONIM) and other denominational partners in establishing churches in geographical areas of Brazil that have little evangelical influence of sound doctrine. Help advance the Kingdom by spreading the Gospel and planting new churches.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Use area of personal interest (music, sports, art, computers, etc.) as a way to create relationships with people who don't yet know Jesus
    • Present the good news of Jesus in a way that is understandable
    • Lead new believers in basic Bible studies
    • Disciple and mentor new believers as they grow in their faith
    • Help believers identify and use their gifts
    • Train and partner with emerging leaders

    Seminary Professor (Multiple Openings) (critical need)

    Serve as a full-time professor at Fundación Universitaria Seminario Bíblico de Colombia. Teach classes at the seminary, provide advice and counsel to students, and serve on faculty committees as directed by the Dean.

    ESL Camp Counselor - Summer 2019

    Spend your summer break making an impact in the life of a Hungarian youth through English evangelism. Build relationships with students through fellowship, discussion groups, Bible study, and recreational activities. The next English camp begins July 2019.

    ESL Intern (critical need)

    Transform lives in Hungary as you lead three weekly ESL classes for children and youth. You'll work directly with students and serve alongside the OMS Hungary team. Design and implement lesson plans and materials based on your understanding of students' needs and best practices in ESL. You'll be involved in other team ministries and activities, including planning for summer English camps. Gain practical ESL experience and missions exposure as part of the OMS Hungary team in Budapest.

    Instructional Aide (critical need)

    Provide specialized support for a high-functioning autistic student so that he is able to be part of a normal educational environment at an English-speaking missionary school. Participate in classes with this student during the day as you creatively make the curriculum accessible and help him complete assignments. Assist with other functions throughout the day, including transitions between classes. As an instructional aide, you’ll have a huge impact on this student and enable his parents to increase their ministry effectiveness in Hungary.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide assistance in completing teacher-directed activities. Work to tutor, reinforce, and/or follow-up learning activities and model appropriate skills and behaviors
    • Modify activities, assignments and/or materials as needed, under the direction of the teacher or therapist.
    • Collaborate with faculty in order to promote understanding of the student’s needs. Attend faculty meetings and other school events as required.
    • Communicate with parents about homework, upcoming projects, socialization issues, etc. as applicable.
    • Encourage the development of independence while maintaining constant supervision.
    • Help with relating to other students.

    Sports Ministry Outreach (critical need)

    Lead sports ministries at a newly-built sports court to build relationships with youth and young adults. As individuals accept Christ, engage them in discipleship through replicating small groups. Sports include basketball, volleyball, tennis, flag football, futsal, and table tennis. Equip and encourage church members to be actively involved in sports outreach and discipleship.

    Maintenance Manager

    Put your maintenance gift to use to further ministry in Japan. Serve as the maintenance manager for the OMS grounds by performing indoor and outdoor maintenance such as landscaping, minor indoor repairs, and light carpentry. Help with small repairs at the OMS-affiliated seminary and local churches, and supervise work teams that come to do maintenance projects. In this role you'll support missionaries, churches, and the seminary while also sharing Christ with vendors and other contacts.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain the One Mission Society buildings and grounds in a cost-effective manner so that they are safe, attractive, and functional

    In this role, you'll make disciples who make disciples. Equip local pastors in evangelism through English evangelism strategies. Encourage and train local pastors and leaders to lead and replicate small groups utilizing Train & Multiply, an obedience-based discipleship tool. Other English ministries may include crafts, cooking classes, conversational English, coffee house ministries, and English Bible studies.

    Leadership Development and Pastoral Care

    Pastors and other leaders are often overworked and stressed, and they often lack someone to talk with confidentially. Pastoral care is vital to the health of these individuals and the churches and ministries they lead. Fill this critical need by exhorting and encouraging pastors and other church leaders in Mexico. Provide missionary care and support, mentoring, discipling, and prayer to see individuals and ministries flourish. Foster community by serving as a bridge between One Mission Society and partner churches.

    Essential Duties

    • Schedule visitation rotations with regular office hours

    Treasurer

    Oversee the financial operations of One Mission Society in Mozambique by understanding and implementing mission policies and procedures with regard to finance.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Oversee the work of employed staff in the business offices.
    • Provide advice and assistance with regard to data entry and reporting.
    • Ensure all accounts are up-to-date, data is entered, and banks and cash boxes are balanced. Do the data entries if employees staff are not available.

    Seminary Professor

    Teach at the Maputo Biblical and Theological Seminary. You will find students hungry to learn more about God's Word and how to use it effectively. Professors at MBTS have the unique opportunity to help develop leaders who will impact the church in Mozambique and Southern Africa.

    Physical Therapist

    Helping Hands Compassionate Outreach exists to mobilize and equip the church to creatively communicate the Gospel to individuals living with disabilities and their families. We are seeking qualified physical therapists to join our team to help meet some of the physical needs of those we are ministering to and also to be involved in training of volunteers and staff within the ministry. There is a real need for skills in physical therapy here in Mozambique since many people have limited access to such services.

    Helping Hands takes a holistic approach to expressing God’s love to those living with a disability and their families. We're looking for people with a passion to use their practical skills alongside being prepared to share the Gospel, reaching out to communities in Word and deed.

    We are planning to have a dedicated outreach center for those living with disabilities which could include treatment rooms. We would love to explore the possibility of hiring Mozambican physical therapists to work in this center. However since the training of physical therapists in Mozambique is very new, we would love to see experienced physical therapists working alongside these staff members to provide additional training and professional development.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Conduct home visits for those living with a disability, including physical therapy assessments and treatments
    • Help the team distribute wheelchairs, walking aids, and crutches where possible.
    • Train volunteers in basic physical therapy skills to impact more people
    • Potential opportunities exist to visit partner churches in the center and north of the country to offer training and support as they seek to establish the Helping Hands Ministry there.

    Academic Director - Christian Academy in Mozambique

    Christian Academy in Mozambique (CAM) exists to provide high-quality education in a Christian environment that equips each student spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically to be effective ambassadors for Christ and effective servants in society. The school serves missionary, international, and Mozambican families. CAM’s core values are to develop Christian character, critical thinking, and global citizenship among its students.     • Direct and shape the curricula and teaching processes. Mentor our African and International teachers, work with the school director to recruit new staff members, and move the school into a new accreditation phase.
    • Lead educational committees and the accreditation committee to gain compliance with the required standards of education.
    • Work with faculty to select textbooks and other educational materials and manage the purchase of supplies. Responsible for the research and design of educational materials and instructional methods to meet our core values.

    Special Education Teacher

    Helping Hands Compassionate Outreach exists to mobilize and equip the church to creatively communicate the Gospel to individuals living with disabilities and their families. Many Mozambicans who are living with a disability have limited or no access to education, so this role is critical in providing new opportunities for these individuals.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Home visits to those living with a disability. These visits could include assessments of abilities and needs, one-one work with individuals and helping advise parents on learning activities they can be using in the home setting. We work with people who cover a very wide spectrum of disabilities.
    • Training volunteers in educational activities to utilize during in-home visits
    • In the future, we are hoping to have a dedicated outreach centre for those living with disabilities. We would love this to include classrooms for those children unable to receive education in the schools here. We would love an experienced special education teacher to oversee these classrooms and train up Mozambican teachers in this specialty.

    Wheelchair Technician

    Helping Hands Compassionate Outreach exists to mobilize and equip the church to creatively communicate the Gospel to individuals living with disabilities and their families. We do this through practical means, such as providing wheelchairs and walking aids, and also by visiting families to encourage and share God’s word with them. We currently have three Mozambicans employed in our workshop, where they repair, make adjustments to and assemble various types of wheelchairs to be distributed to those in need. We are seeking someone with practical skills to be involved in overseeing this work in the workshop and to help the team to continue to pursue new ideas and new solutions in this area.

    Occupational Therapist

    Helping Hands Compassionate Outreach exists to mobilize and equip the church to creatively communicate the Gospel to individuals living with disabilities and their families. We are seeking qualified occupational therapists to join our team to help meet some of the needs of those we are ministering to and also to be involved in training of volunteers and staff within the ministry. There is a real need for skills in occupational therapy here in Mozambique since many people have limited access to specialized services.

    Human Trafficking Prevention Trainer

    Do you have a passion to prevent human trafficking? Conduct HOPE61 training and follow-up so that local believers are equipped to engage vulnerable people in their communities and reduce their vulnerability to becoming involved in trafficking. HOPE61 focuses on preventing trafficking through culturally-appropriate methods of intentional evangelism and continuing discipleship. HOPE61 trainers work alongside local church denominations and other partners around the world.

    Opportunities include countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. This role does not require relocating but involves traveling 1-4 times per year to conduct trainings and follow up.

    Essential Duties

    • Visit assigned ministry field two to four times per year to accomplish the assigned responsibilities

    While continuing to live in your home country, you will travel to your assigned country or countries three to four times per year to promote church multiplication. Adventures in English (AIE) is a two-week intensive English camp that primarily serves Korean seminary students and pastors, as well as young adults.     Mobilization Coordinator

    Use your administrative and communications skills to help send missionaries and make disciples around the world. As an integral member of the Mobilization team, you’ll help improve processes and communications to connect interested individuals with missions service.

    Essential Duties

    Administration

    • Learn, operate, and seek to improve processes through the application and acceptance journey to reduce barriers to missions engagement
    • Come alongside the mobilization team to assist with logistics for short-term, career and internship programs

    Assist in conceptualization, editing, and production of film content to highlight One Mission Society initiatives and ministries.     At One Mission Society, the Men for Missions (MFM) team coordinates short-term trips for more than 600 people per year, transforming the lives of those who go and the people they serve. As the administrative intern, you’ll help MFM transition from paper to digital format so that people can more easily participate in trips. You’ll transition trip applications and binders into digital formats and manage trip opportunities online. You’ll also have the chance to participate in a short-term trip missions overseas as part of your internship.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Pay bills online
