Randy and Linda Spacht
Randy and Linda Spacht served with One Mission Society in Colombia from 1977 to 1994. Randy, as professor of New Testament, taught Bible, theology, and Greek at the OMS-related Biblical Seminary of Colombia. During much of that time, he served as academic dean of the seminary. He also served as Colombia’s field director from 1989–94. Linda served as secretary and hostess during much of their term.
In 1994, OMS named Randy vice president of Human Resources for the worldwide missionary organization. In this position, he was responsible for placing personnel where their gifts and experience could best be expended in the mission’s goal of reaching the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In 1999, Randy began to serve as international regional director for Latin America. In that position, he assisted field and church leaders with strategic decisions and troubleshooting. Linda served in secretarial positions in several divisions of OMS. In 2007, Randy became executive director of International Ministries. In that position, he was responsible for all OMS ministries overseas.
In 2017, Randy and Linda retired from full-time service with OMS to become part of a pastoral team in Greenwood, Indiana. In that role, Randy continues to relate to overseas missions, including OMS. He continues to mentor friends and colleagues in Colombia and Mexico, and he is part of a team to initiate an online theological core curriculum in Spanish for OMS seminaries. He also helps foster a church-planting movement in Nicaragua. Locally, he helps minister in meaningful ways to refugee populations on Indianapolis’ Southside. The Spachts continue to receive partial support through the OMS retirement package.
The Spachts are graduates of Asbury College (now Asbury University). Randy earned a master of arts degree in religion from Asbury Theological Seminary, and he has done postgraduate studies in New Testament at Wycliffe College, Toronto. They have four adult children and eight grandchildren.
