Esther and Stephen Williamson
Stephen and Esther Williamson joined OMS in 1997.
Stephen served in the North of Ireland as regional director from 1997 until 2007, assisted in this role by Esther. Before this, he was involved in industry in a number of companies. He now serves as field leader for the Republic of Ireland.
The Williamson’s ministry is one of partnering with developing Irish evangelical churches with a view to seeing these churches plant churches so that unreached areas of the Republic will have an evangelical Christian witness.
Stephen holds a bachelor of arts degree from Queens University Belfast and a master of science degree in financial economics from the University of Wales. He and Esther were married in 1977, and they have three children: Sarah, Hannah and Benjamin and two grandchildren, Micah and Joel.
Stephen and Esther recognize that there is a tremendous spiritual need in the Republic of Ireland where less than one percent of the population is evangelical Christian. Their prayer is that many will come to faith in Christ and that they, in turn, will grasp the urgency of sharing the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a spiritually dark country.
One Mission Society is an evangelical, interdenominational faith mission that makes disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional evangelism, planting churches and training national leaders in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America. OMS then joins with those churches in global partnerships to reach the rest of the world.
