Dale and Ruth Hunter

Answering God’s call to full-time missions, Dale and Ruth Hunter joined OMS in August 1983 to serve at the One Mission Society World Headquarters.

Dale serves as the OMS cashier. He prepares donor gifts for processing and prepares the bank deposits. He also assists Ruth in mailing list maintenance.

Ruth serves as mailing list manager. She often appears as Happy the Clown when ministering to children in churches, conferences and camps. Ruth also conducts seminars on presenting missions to children and how to keep a year-round mission focus in the church.

After attending Seattle Pacific and Cascade Colleges, Dale pursued a business career. His business experience includes managing his own sporting and hardware store and serving as credit manager for Word Records, Ltd.

Ruth, having met Dale at Cascade College, continued her studies at University of Oregon Medical School of Nursing and Portland State College. Before coming to OMS, Ruth served for ten years in the personnel and payroll departments of the University of Oregon Medical School.

The Hunters find great satisfaction in knowing God has gifted them for their ministries at OMS Headquarters. Their supportive ministries are essential to those working on OMS fields worldwide.

Dale and Ruth have two children, April and Randy. April and her husband Jonathan live in Nashua, New Hampshire. Randy and his wife Abby reside in Fishers, Indiana. Dale and Ruth are blessed with five grandchildren.

Dale enjoys fishing, hunting, reading and bird watching. Ruth enjoys teaching children about Jesus and telling them that they can be missionaries wherever they are. Making crafts and reading good books are favorite hobbies of Ruth.

One Mission Society is an evangelical, interdenominational faith mission that makes disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional evangelism, planting churches and training national leaders in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America. OMS then joins with those churches in global partnerships to reach the rest of the world.
