Jeff and Michelle Hawkins
Jeff and Michelle Hawkins were accepted as One Mission Society missionaries in June 2007, and they were commissioned in 2008. They will keep their professional careers while working for OMS, and they will make several trips a year to OMS fields with short-term teams. They took their first trip to Kenya, Burundi, and Rwanda, Africa, in July 2007.
Michelle supports the work of Dynamic Women in Missions (DWIM) and Every Community for Christ (ECC), both ministries of OMS. She leads the women in Africa involved in Village Church Planting to develop leadership and facilitation skills. As she mobilizes them, they discover their identity in Christ, how to share their faith, how to disciple others, and how to plant multiplying churches.
Jeff has worked in a high school setting for the past 13 years as a certified technical educator. He also worked in the construction field for more than 40 years. He is a member of South Albany Community Church (SACC). Jeff is a trustee for SACC and works with men to make his community more aware of God’s plan for their lives through service.
Michelle is the women’s leader for South Albany Community Church and also serves on the Leadership Council there. She wants to inspire women to do kingdom work for God through discipleship and service. She has worked for more than 35 years in the finance and banking industry and is currently the Linn County Treasurer in Albany, Oregon.
Jeff and Michelle have 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
