Aaron and Kristin Gouge
Aaron and Kristin Gouge will serve the Lord in Ecuador, South America, with One Mission Society. Aaron will fill the roll of district liaison. He has a heart to build relationships with the national pastors and work alongside them to make disciples. He looks forward to being a source of encouragement. Kristin will homeschool their four boys and serve alongside Aaron, encouraging the national church pastors and their families.
Aaron and Kristin were married in July 2006. They have four boys: Matthias, Ethan, Titus, and Silas. Before joining OMS, they attended Return Evangelical Church in Salem, Oregon, for seven years. Aaron served as a deacon. His role was one of service: organizing work days, being available to teach Bible studies on short notice, helping in the kitchen, building maintenance, and however else he was needed. Kristin served as the church treasurer, helped in the kitchen, and assisted with the Children’s Bible Quizzing ministry.
Aaron was born in Danville, Kentucky, but, from the age of one, was raised on the mission field in Bolivia, South America. Kristin was born and raised in Keizer, Oregon. Her family has been in Oregon since 1880. Kristin was homeschooled. Aaron and Kristin met in Oregon when they attended the wedding of Aaron’s brother to Kristin’s best friend. The Gouges love to spend their time with their family and outdoors. Camping, hiking, and fishing are some of the things the boys love best. Kristin also enjoys quiet time reading, knitting, and visiting with family and friends.
Early in the spring of 2014, while at church for a Thursday evening service, Aaron and Kristin were called to the mission field. Aaron rose with excitement to the call immediately, while Kristin struggled to be willing. However, though the lovingkindness of the Father, she felt her heart soften and now looks forward with joy to the plan God has for their family in Ecuador.
