Ron and Patty Collins joined One Mission Society full time in May 2003 to use God’s giftedness to them for his kingdom building and his glory.
Patty taught for 16 years before responding to a call into missions that she received in her teen years. She served as a missionary teacher with OMS in Spain from 1987 to 1988, where she received a missionary field education that enabled her to minister with Ron throughout the CoMission years in Russia from 1992 through 1998. God made a perfect match. Patty’s field experience and teaching credentials paired with Ron’s business experience in management, contract negotiations, and development allowed them the experience of living on the cutting edge as OMS was recognized as THE sending organization among 85 participating partner organizations. Currently, Patty provides oversight and coordination of OMS events, including the OMS Illuminate Conference and the President’s Gatherings, and she coaches missionaries who are funding to begin ministry with OMS.
Ron began his own construction and development business in 1975. He was introduced to OMS in 1977 by a Christian businessman involved with OMS, and he became heavily involved in Men for Missions, the ministry of OMS that sends short-term teams to the mission field. He served as the national work crusade coordinator from 1978 to 1984. In 2003, God’s call became evident, and they became significantly involved in development for Every Community for Christ (ECC), the multiplication church planting catalyst of One Mission Society. In 2007, Ron accepted the role of vice president of Development for all of OMS.
After 10 years as vice president of Development, Ron has transitioned to the position of mission investment advisor. His responsibilities include:
- Maintaining relationships with OMS donors.
- Communicate OMS ministry needs and opportunities to interested donors.
- Assist with foundation calling as directed.
- Ask for God’s resources from donors as appropriate to allow ministries, projects, and programs to be funded and accomplished.
- Assist Development leadership as appropriate.
