Mebra, a Ugandan woman from a remote village, attended a One
Mission Society Seed Sowers and community health evangelism training in Kampala
As a single mother of five, Mebra had experienced many rejections in her life before coming to Christ. Even Mebra's family had rejected her when she decided to follow Jesus.
During our time with the women, our prayer coordinator discovered
that many of the participants had been harassed by spirits—demons who force
themselves on the women, usually during the night. They asked for help.
Thankfully, our prayer leader had experience dealing with
spiritual warfare challenges, so she guided the women through a process of
confessing and renouncing their sin. How amazing to hear the corporate
confession of sin!
About five minutes later, Mebra began to have serious breathing
problems, like a severe asthma attack. After about 30 minutes, Mebra personally
confessed and renounced the strongholds of sin in her life. The demons left,
and she experienced victory in Jesus!
Finally, the Every Community for Christ and Dynamic Women in
Missions team prayed over Mebra’s bedroom.
The next day, Mebra described her night as “so peaceful!” Praise
God for the truth in John 8:32, “You will know the truth, and the truth will
set you free.”
When you give to the Global Impact Fund, you are giving more people like Mebra the opportunity to experience the freedom, hope, and love that is solely found in Jesus Christ!
Will you consider giving to the Global Impact Fund today?

should One Mission Society seek to help longtime partners from Africa, Asia,
and Latin America (aka the Global South) actively express their missionary
nature? As in the book of Acts, God, by his Spirit, put the desire in them to
take the Gospel beyond the boundaries of their own people. It’s a growing
passion, burning in the hearts of more and more of these partners. So why
change organizationally to welcome and help them?
churches in decline in many Western nations, a new wave of mission passion
is coming from the Global South.
from the Global South often can access people and places much less
accessible to missionaries from North America and Europe.
more than a century of mission experience, we can sensitively share
effective tools, strategies, and other resources while graciously helping
our Global South brothers and sister avoid the mistakes we have made.
America and Europe, once strongholds of the Christian faith, are now
mission fields in need of workers from the Global South.
many contexts, missionaries from the Global South can be more effective
than those coming from North America and Europe.
is not a call for a moratorium on missionary sending from Western
nations! God can use, and is using, workers from these countries in powerful
ways. More are urgently needed. But it is a call to embrace and empower, in
humility, cross-cultural workers coming from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
After all, God’s mission is a global mission . . . involving people from
anywhere to anywhere as ambassadors of Christ, our deliverer and Lord.

A beautiful story from Vicki Pasterick from a recent trip she took to Panama, along with her team from Peru, to train the church there about Train & Multiply.
We were in a church outside of David City that was actually a tabernacle. There were no walls - just curtains. They call it Canaan Temple or Camp Canaan. There are many people in this area from the indigenous Ngäbe tribe.
We understood that these people were all believers and we were teaching them how to share the Gospel with those they are close to who are far from God. Part of that is teaching them the 3 circles evangelism tool. This tool takes the Gospel story and presents it in an easy to understand and easy to share format.
When I finished telling the story that we all live in brokenness, but that was never God's intention - that brokenness is the result of our sin... When I told them that God loved us so much He made a way for us to get back to the relationship with Him that He always intended... When I explained that when we are willing to turn from our sin and make Jesus the King of our lives, He will make us a new creation. HE changes us. We don't have to do the changing on our own... something happened that I never saw happen before.
People came forward and said they wanted to follow Jesus. They had never fully understood the simple story of the Gospel. They were in church. They were attending church, but they didn't know Jesus!
One man was asked if he wanted to pray also, and he said no. But as the others prayed, I saw his lips move as he lifted his brokenness to the One who longs to have a relationship with him. When the others were gathering their things to leave, I spoke to him. I told him that I would be praying for him and welcomed him to the family of believers. He smiled a big smile.
Later, one of the men who was there for the training asked if he could have one of our training manuals. He told us that he does mission work in Nicaragua and he was excited to be able to share these tools on his next trip there.
God is opening doors and drawing people to Himself. Oh how He love us! What an honor to watch Him work in lives!!
Thank you for your prayers and support!

In April 2018, ONE man attended a HOPE61 training program in Kiteezi, Uganda, to learn how to prevent
human trafficking in his area. In HOPE61 training,
participants learn what is causing people to be vulnerable to becoming involved
in human trafficking. They also learn that EVERYONE has assets, skills, and
resources to help those in their community who are vulnerable. This man
realized that young men in his community were vulnerable to becoming involved
in human trafficking because they were uneducated and unable to obtain good
employment to provide for their families. Many young men, in this situation,
end up seeking work overseas, and this is one of the easiest traps that
traffickers can use to enslave people.
This young man also knew that he had a skill for
furniture making and other types of woodworking. He decided to begin training
these young men in carpentry and furniture making skills as a way to reduce
their vulnerability to human trafficking. He opened a storefront and called
the business Blessed Furniture. At Blessed Furniture, these young men have
learned to make beds and dressers, as well as more detailed woodworking like
turning bowls and chalices on a lathe. They are making a good wage now and will
soon have the skills to open their own businesses. The activity around the
small shop is all based on the love of Jesus Christ, and the message of the
Gospel is being shared with the young men working there and many other people
who pass by the shop. This young man understood that as he ENGAGES ONE, HE IS ABLE TO REACH MANY.
There is a particular Muslim girl who is a
friend of one of the young men. She has been hanging around the shop with her
friend and hearing about the love of Jesus and his desire for all to be saved
by calling upon his name. Although she has not accepted this gift yet, she is
well on her way to welcoming Jesus into her life. This is what HOPE61 is all about. Encouraging people to use their own gifts and
resources to help those around them,
sharing the Gospel with them, and welcoming them into the community of the
local church to be discipled in the Word is the vision for the HOPE61 ministry.

Why Billion.Global? Connections. Cooperation instead of competition. Even collaboration in God’s work resulting in greater impact and effectiveness.
Using social media creatively and strategically, a Billion.Global partner (“A”) is reaching into a country where access to the Gospel is critically low. Many people there are learning about Jesus for the first time and making decisions to follow him. The numbers given opportunity to do this, in the hundreds of thousands, are incredibly encouraging. But how do these people access God’s Word in their heart language, especially with so many of them being oral learners who prefer to hear the Word as opposed to reading it … living in a setting where printed copies of God’s Word are hard to find and dangerous to have?
Another Billion.Global partner (“B”) specializes in digital voice recordings of God’s Word. These are done in multiple languages, using native speakers of those languages. A voice recording of the entire Bible in the predominant language of the people being reached with the Gospel by “A” has been done by “B.”
It is strategic, kingdom-advancing, and eternally impactful to bring “A” and “B” together. Billion.Global has done just that. By downloading a digital Bible, access to God’s Word for seekers and new disciples is discreet and easy.
Connecting the dots … “A” now aware of and working with “B” for an eternal purpose … results in disciples being made and the Good News of Jesus Christ advancing! This is a part of God’s work through Billion.Global.
Editors note: Billion. Global is a passionate vision to give ONE BILLON people the opportunity to hear, understand, and believe the Good News of Jesus Christ by the year 2026. It was conceived in the heart of OMS President, Bob Fetherlin.
