“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10: 14-15
Beautiful, indeed, are the many servants of God who work at Radio 4VEH and have given Haitians the opportunity to hear the Good News of the Gospel for 64 years. On June 2, 1950, the first radio program was transmitted, and God’s faithfulness and provision has been at work in Haiti through Radio 4VEH ever since. This week, we celebrate Radio 4VEH’s anniversary with the theme: “With God, we are able!”— a wonderful reminder that it is only because of God that millions of Haitians are reached every day.
This 24-hour radio station has become a lifeline for so many Haitians in so many ways. For some, it has been their only source of breaking news and necessary information. For others, they have heard, understood, and accepted God’s truth that is shared often across the airwaves. Physically and spiritually, this radio station continues to impact lives across Haiti.
One listener writes, “We can never say thank you enough for the kind of blessing 4VEH brings to our home, our life, every day. This kind of blessing doesn't have a price tag…this is a life-saving radio!”
However, there are more than 4.3 million people in the northern Haiti area of who have lost their signal due to aging AM towers. Even though the station is recently out of debt (BIG PRAISE!), the station is certainly not out of needs. Through a project called “Restore the Signal,” Radio 4VEH is hoping to raise enough funds to fix the two AM towers, protect the towers’ site by improving security, and completing a perimeter wall. The project has already received 95 percent of its funds, but it still needs $20,000 in order for the project to be entirely funded.
In order for Radio 4VEH to re-reach this area in Petite Anse quickly, they are hoping to have 100 percent funding by June 30. “Restore the Signal” will take a good amount of the summer to complete, so time is of the essence right now in Haiti.
This ministry of OMS has been helping Haitians hear the news, wonderful music and the message of the Gospel for 64 years. Now, they need our help. If you feel called to help Radio4VEH reach 100 percent of its funding, you can give online or with a check in the mail.
