this compassion ministry, coordinated by Men for Missions and run by the OMS-related
Emmaus Fellowship of Churches in Haiti, we desire to make disciples of Jesus
Christ, equipping and inspiring them to share their faith with family and
friends, multiplying dynamic communities of believers, which is right in line
with the OMS mission statement:

“Bondye ap tande
lapriye, Chak maten, midi, ni aswe, Bondye ap reponn lapriye”
Haitian Creole to English means, “God hears prayers—morning, noon and night. God
answers prayer.” This simple children’s prayer is a good reminder to us that God
indeed hears and answers our prayers.

people who have participated on a Men for Missions short-term team to
Port-au-Prince, Haiti, have visited the children at the One Mission
Society-related Christian school, College Mixte Evangelique de Gressier, and
witnessed the poverty-stricken area. In an effort to alleviate the children’s
hunger, One Mission Society created a feeding program through the SHEEP
ministry in the school to supply one hot meal during each school day. Before these
meals were being provided, some of the students were having trouble focusing on
learning due to hunger. This school meal may be the only nutrition the student receives
for the day.
just 49 cents a day, a Haitian child can be fed at school each day. College Mixte
Evangelique has just over 200 students. It costs approximately $100 per day to
feed everyone in the school, which equals about $3,000 for six weeks.
shares, “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry
and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?...“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of
the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me’ Matthew
generosity can greatly impact a Haitian child and the community. Would you help

Who doesn’t love a birthday party? Cake, balloons, presents,
friends, and family gathered together to celebrate you! Yet, Cary Boster from
Raleigh, North Carolina, felt the Lord leading her in a different direction.
Here’s her story:
I have been working with OMS missionaries Bill Evans, Dick McLeish
and Jenna Guerrier, serving with Men for Missions, for many years, and in February
2016, I was blessed with the opportunity to go with Jenna on my first mission
trip to Haiti. After going on this trip, my eyes were really opened on how
truly blessed I am.
I had a big birthday party planned for my 40th in October 2016;
but after my trip, I realized that the kids in Haiti could benefit from
me not having a
party, and instead, donating the money from a party and gifts to them directly.
I had family and friends donate to the SHEEP ministry through One Mission Society. The
kids in Haiti have really touched my heart, and I cannot wait to go back.
We praise the Lord for Cary’s heart to help the children in Haiti.
Not only is Cary a child sponsor for SHEEP, she was obedient to the Lord’s calling to
additionally assist in raising money for the school. Would you pray about
becoming a child sponsor? Inquire now to learn more about the Challenge Grant,
which gives two years of sponsorship for the price of one year. Contact our
office at firstname.lastname@example.org or give here.

we think about a flock, we envision a large group. The OMS-sponsored school in
Gressier, Haiti, has a flock of students. Yet, our Shepherd, the Lord Jesus, knows
and loves each one individually. SHEEP (Southern Haiti Evangelism and Education
Program), an ministry of One Mission Society and coordinated by Men for
Missions, recognizes that every child deserves the opportunity to hear the Good
News of Jesus, to receive an education, and to feel loved.
Goodman from Vanlue, Ohio, shares her personal experience of meeting these
had the privilege of visiting the school in Gressier, Haiti, where I first learned
of the SHEEP ministry. I was so moved, I immediately knew I wanted to be
involved in this ministry.
We were greeted by Madame
Charlotte, who lovingly runs the school. As we approached the classrooms,
we heard the children’s voices ringing out as they started each morning with
songs of praise and reciting Scripture. We had the opportunity to sit in on a
classroom where we observed dedicated teachers instructing students.
In months to come, some of
those students may not be able to return to their classroom. Their tuition
is paid monthly, so if they do not have the money the next month, they do not
get to attend school, sometimes missing many months at a time. If they don’t
attend school, they may not eat, as the school has a meal program that provides
the children with the certainty of at least one meal a day.
When the children had their
break (recess), we were able to interact with them and they totally stole my
heart. There was hugging, hand holding, sitting on laps, trying their best
to teach us games and songs, laughter, and just happy children having fun in a
safe, caring environment.
SHEEP provides a stable
opportunity for these children to be able to attend school on a consistent
basis, providing them with nourishment for their spiritual, intellectual, and
