MFM Initiatives

We have seen God move in a mighty way in Haiti, and we have seen a nation transformed by the power of prayer. What began as an operation to saturate all of Haiti with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through fixed-tuned, solar-powered radios ended up being an operation to saturate all of Haiti with prayer. We have stood in awe as we watched God move in powerful ways through the prayers of His people.

As Operation Saturation came to an "official" close in December of 2004, we felt God was asking us to apply the prayer lessons we learned in Haiti to all the countries in which One Mission Society ministers. From these lessons, the Men for Missions prayer initiative was started. The prayer initiative uses the principles of tactical and strategic spiritual warfare prayer to eliminate the obstacles impeding the Gospel message from being clearly heard and understood.

Tactical intercession is done in a particular country and involves walking the ground, meeting and praying with missionaries and national workers and experiencing the culture and people so prayer team members can be better prepared to intercede specifically for the spiritual needs that are discerned.

In the prayer initiative, we ask God to raise up a country champion for each country. This person goes to that country, walks on the ground and claims it for Christ. The prayer champion, along with an in-country coordinator, divides the country into sectors and enlists a group of intercessors to pray for the country on a daily basis. We also pray for God to place a burden on someone's heart to be the prayer leader of a sector; that person then takes prayer teams to the sector and also prays for the sector daily while at home. The country champion gets prayer requests from the in-country coordinator and distributes those to the sector leaders for them to pass on to their intercessors.
