eXtreme Walk

What is eXtreme Walk? eXtreme Walk, a ministry of One Mission Society, is an opportunity to learn from and serve alongside local church planters. The national believers will train you to share the Gospel and make disciples in their culture, language and community.

Sharing the Gospel can take many different forms, which all depend on prayer for effectiveness. Embodying Christ’s love, along with local Christians, is a major part of this experience. You will live among the people you seek to reach with the wholeness that Jesus brings. Making disciples involves investing yourself—your time, your energy, your life—in a few faithful, available and teachable disciples. Our prayer is that you will share the Gospel extensively and invest yourself intensively in a few people while the national believers and other missionaries invest in you. This eleven-month experience designed specifically young adults, ages 20 and older. eXtreme Walk teams are sent out in January and July each year. The cost for eXtreme Walk varies from country to country, but the average cost, which includes everything, is approximately US$12,000.

    • Language and cross-cultural discipleship training
    • Live in community with the local people
    • Be discipled and make disciples
    • Embody the Gospel to those who have never experienced it
    • Start new worshiping groups of disciples

IF…

...you are a child of the heavenly Father who trusts in Jesus as your Savior;

...you will rely on the Spirit’s power to live in fellowship with brothers and sisters who commit to walk the eXtreme Walk;

...you want to seek first the kingdom of God, forgiving and asking forgiveness and surrendering your life to the Lordship of Christ;

...you want to walk in righteousness and love your neighbor as yourself, sharing the Good News of Jesus extensively and investing yourself intensively in the lives of a few disciples who will in turn make more disciples;

THEN…

eXtreme Walk might be God’s plan for you. Teams are forming now to serve in eight countries. Pray, asking the Lord if He still wants people to go and make disciples and if He wants you to be one of those He is sending. If the answer is yes, we’d like to talk with you.

Immerse yourself in missions! In the eXtreme Walk program, you will spend 11 months developing relationships with the people of your host culture, as well as learning about and participating in the work of evangelism, discipleship and church multiplication that fits into that culture. eXtreme Walk is also a time for you to listen to where God may be leading you next.
