Tom and Tonya Overton

Tom and Tonya were accepted as career missionaries with One Mission Society in January 2012. Tom serves as the chief operating officer of OMS USA, and Tonya serves as the associate director of HOPE61 (OMS’ human trafficking prevention ministry). 

Tom provides senior-level leadership to all facets of the OMS USA operation, including oversight of Human Resources, Marketing and Communication, Development, Finance, Church Partners, Student Ministry, and the World Headquarters campus in Greenwood, Indiana. Tom is responsible for creating and maintaining effective and efficient operations to support the ministries of OMS Global in the 75+ countries where we serve. 

Tonya provides leadership to HOPE61. In this role, she oversees communications, training, and materials translation to a ministry that has trained more than 20,000 local church pastors and lay leaders in more than 15 countries around the world.

Tom and Tonya live in Greenwood, Indiana, but travel extensively around the world. Prior to answering the call from God to become career missionaries, Tom worked in senior management in the credit union industry, and Tonya was a special education teacher before becoming a stay-at-home mom to their three children. Tom and Tonya are active in their church, Mount Auburn UMC. Tom enjoys watching and playing sports of all sorts and working around the house. He is in the process of finishing up a doctor of ministry degree from Wesley Biblical Seminary. Tonya enjoys cooking, volunteering for various organizations, and enjoying free time with the family.
