Information OMS Collects
OMS gathers two types of information about you on our website:

  1. Information you provide through optional, voluntary submissions throughout the site. These optional, voluntary submissions include, but are not limited to, requests: (a) to receive our emails, direct mail letters and/or print publications, (b) to make a purchase at our online store, (c) to make a donation online, (d) to make use of any of our other online services. OMS collects this information from you at several different points on our site, including, but not limited to: the “Donor Sign In,” Email Sign Up,” “Create an Account,” “Online Store,” and/or “Online Donations” pages on the site.
  2. Information is gathered through aggregated tracking, derived mainly by tallying page views throughout our site. This aggregated tracking information includes, without limitation: (a) information such as the server your computer is logged onto, (b) your browser type (e.g. Firefox, Netscape or Internet Explorer) and (c) the pages you view/request to be viewed. This information allows us to better tailor our content to your needs.

Use of Personal Information
OMS is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this privacy policy.

Your name, address and email address may be required so we can send you a confirmation of a successful donation, event registration or to ship any merchandise you’ve requested from our store.

OMS uses your personal information to: (1) process your requests and transactions, (2) offer or furnish additional products and services, (3) personalize the types of information you receive from OMS, (4) assess trends in the use of our site or purchases of products or services, (5) develop content and functionality that helps us serve our readers’ needs, and (6) improve the service and products we provide.

Donors to missionaries and/or projects are automatically added to our mailing list to receive the publication OMS Outreach magazine. If you wish to donate to a missionary and/or project and not receive OMS Outreach, please request to be removed from the list by contacting us online or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . If you make a purchase from the store or register for an event via the OMS website, your address will not be automatically added to the OMS Outreach magazine mailing list.

Any credit card or banking information provided for donations, event registrations or store purchases is done via a secure site and personal financial information is never in the possession of OMS unless you download the EFT or recurring credit card payment forms, fill them out, sign them and mail them via the US Postal Service to OMS.

Your telephone number, address, email address and any other information you provide on this website will not be divulged to any outside organization.

Registration
In some cases our site uses securely encrypted contribution response forms for visitors who choose to use these forms to provide information, request information and/or make donations. We collect your willingly submitted contact information (e.g., your email address), unique identifiers (e.g. an OMS donor account number) and financial information (e.g., credit card type, number and expiration date). Contact information from these response forms is used to process donations, provide receipts and provide other information about OMS to our customers. Your contact information is also used to get in touch with you when necessary in order to resolve customer service issues or questions. You may readily opt-out of receiving future communications - see the "Choice/Opt-Out" section here. Unique identifiers (e.g. an OMS account number) may be collected from you to assist in matching current donation information with donor history in our record systems.

Evangelical Council of Financial Accountability (ECFA)

ECFA is an accreditation agency dedicated to helping Christian ministries earn the public’s trust through adherence to seven standards of responsible stewardship. Founded in 1979, it is comprised of more than 1,100 charitable, religious, missionary, social and educational tax-exempt, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations.
ECFA’s standards of responsible stewardship focus on board governance, financial transparency, integrity in fund-raising and proper use of charity resources.

Compliance with the standards is monitored in three ways:

  1. All ECFA members must annually submit membership review information, including audited financial statements, IRS Form 990 (if applicable), salary information, fund-raising appeals, board composition, changes in organizing documents and much more to verify compliance with the standards.
  2. ECFA conducts onsite field reviews with approximately 10 percent of its membership each year. These field reviews serve to verify the information submitted in the annual membership review, confirm compliance with the ECFA membership standards and give support to the member organizations.
  3. ECFA responds to complaints against member organizations. All such complaints are investigated thoroughly in order to determine possible non-compliance with the standards.

ECFA provides several services to the donor public as well. Disclosure requirements enable donors to request and receive audited financial statements for all ECFA members. ECFA’s website contains a membership directory with selected financial information of all its members, guidelines for giving, the donor’s bill of rights and general information helpful to the giving public. In addition, ECFA staff provides information to donors on a variety of issues.

Through its publications and services, ECFA informs its members of current administrative, financial, fund-raising, legislative, postal and promotional matters of common concern.

One Mission Society is a charter member in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). Please check their website out at: www.ecfa.org.
