Faith in Action

By Jim Hogrefe
It was a Sunday afternoon, and Christians from three villages gathered in a larger town where they could worship without the severe opposition in their villages. The journey was hard for many of them, especially one woman who could barely walk, even with crutches.
But they gathered with much joy as they sang praises to their Lord and received training that they would then use to reach people in their villages.
Once again he heard the voice of the Spirit speaking a fresh challenge to his heart. During the finishing exercises, the participants were asked to submit fresh training goals for the following three months.
Salome gave an emotional testimony of how a believer, Rita, had helped her when her husband had a heart attack in 2006. Salome only had 300 rupees and could not afford any care, but Rita and others took them to a good hospital where the man was admitted to ICU and received excellent care.
They paid the 30,000 rupees (almost $700) for his care,
and Rita stayed with them in the city for four days. The
husband had a miraculous recovery and was completely
well in two months.
Now Salome has a church meeting in her home.
