Steve and Katuska share a love of travel and languages, as well as a passion to prepare God’s people thoroughly for ministry. They see it as one of their highest callings to inspire their three boys, Samuel (9), Benjamin (7) and Joseph (6) with a love of God and a vision for world mission. Katuska is from Guayaquil, Ecuador; she owes her strong spiritual roots partly to the OMS-founded Filadelfia Church. She heard the clear call to missions as a young girl. She is a graduate of the Escuela Politécnica del Litoral in computer engineering and has added to this a BA Honours in theology from International Christian College in Glasgow, Scotland, specializing in cross-cultural ministry among Muslims. She also holds a master’s degree in educational management and leadership from the University of Loja, Ecuador. Steve is from the midlands of England and holds degrees from Oxford, Coventry and International Christian College in Glasgow. He worked for 11 years as a teacher of economics and geography, first in southern England, then in international schools in Egypt and southern Africa. After spending most of the 1990s as a bivocational missionary, he returned to Britain for further Bible training—which was how the Lord led him to meet Katuska. They married in Guayaquil in 2001 and joined OMS in 2006.
