BJ and Andrea both hold undergraduate degrees from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. BJ received his degree in Bible and theology, and Andrea’s degree is in missiology. Both recognized God’s work in their lives and His leading them to mission work. During college, both participated in various mission-related works, including OMS mission house activities. Both have a strong calling to work in overseas missions, and they are following God in that call. BJ joined OMS’ Men for Missions short-term intercessory prayer team in 2003. This trip to the Caribbean was his first experience on an OMS field. While there, he began to understand OMS’ ministries and goals. This led them to further work with OMS. The Williamsons recognized that the OMS philosophy of ministry models that of Christ, and they are excited to continue working with One Mission Society. The Williamsons were married in October of 2003, and eight months later left for Ecuador with eXtreme Walk. While in Ecuador, they learned about the needs of the church. They decided to continue ministry in Ecuador. During the years, they have worked in several key ministry areas, seeing first-hand the growth and the struggles that the church faces. The Williamsons welcomed their first child, Elijah, in April 2006 and their daughter, Lydia, in July 2008. One Mission Society is an evangelical, interdenominational faith mission that makes disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional evangelism, planting churches and training national leaders in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America. OMS then joins with those churches in global partnerships to reach the rest of the world.

BJ and Andrea Williamson serve in Ecuador as missionaries with One Mission Society. The Williamsons have worked in leadership for the eXtreme Walk program in Ecuador. eXtreme Walk works alongside Every Community for Christ, which is the church multiplication catalyst of One Mission Society. They have also taken on the role of district liaisons, which allows them to keep communication open between the local pastors of their district and OMS. This job gives them opportunities to do leadership training, counseling and guest preaching. Upon their return to Ecuador, they will dedicate all of their time to the position of district liaison. They will also work alongside church-planting pastors and promote the Village Church Planting strategy.
