Treasures in the Darkness in Dorothy Backer's up close and personal account of the miraculous journey of OMS in Hong Kong. As more than one million homeless refugees streamed into Hong Kong, then a British Crown Colony, the British government began building high-rise resettlement apartments. In 1953, God led OMS "Auntie" Munroe and co-workers to begin schools and Bible studies on these rooftops. Brave Christians form China, new converts in Hong Kong, and missionaries prayerfully wept together. God's answers are spilled across the pages of this book. Thousands of hopeless lives came from darkness into His glorious light. Secondary schools, churches, a Bible college, a medical center, a seminary, and other ministries were born. Dorothy served 33 years in Hong Kong. In addition to her ministry in nursing, she served in administration, taught English Bible classes and contributed to various ministries in the churches and schools. She is retired and lives in Salem, Oregon.
